NVEX Successfully Completes Global Internship Program with Hong Kong Youth, Focusing on Inclusive Music Education

NVEX announced that it has successfully completed a global internship program with young participants from Hong Kong. Conducted under the theme of “Inclusive Music Education Innovation,” the program involved four assignments aimed at helping diverse learners participate in music activities.

<br> The program was conducted as part of a global internship and company-linked project initiative involving young participants from Hong Kong YoungFounders School (YFS). It focused on identifying specific barriers to music learning and exploring how technology and creative teaching methods could support the design of music activities and educational content that enable more learners to participate comfortably.

The four assignments covered rhythm learning through visual and vibration cues, playing adaptive musical instruments, learning music notation through pictures and colors, and short, repetitive, step-by-step music activities. The assignments were designed to broaden access to music education through a range of sensory and expressive approaches—including light, color, movement, and vibration alongside sound—and through tools and activity structures suited to learners’ individual needs.

The program was structured around individual student projects, progressing from researching examples of inclusive music education to identifying target learners and learning barriers, designing music activities, reviewing support methods, and outlining expected outcomes. Rather than simply introducing technologies or tools, students were asked to explain the specific activities learners would take part in and how the proposed tools and teaching methods would support their participation.

Throughout the projects, the emphasis was on barriers arising from existing environments and learning methods rather than on learners’ individual abilities. Key principles included respecting different abilities and ways of learning, and recognizing learners not as passive recipients of assistance, but as active participants who make choices, express themselves, and contribute to activities.

The internship provided young participants from Hong Kong with an opportunity to explore accessibility and inclusion in music education through company-linked assignments and translate their research into concrete ideas for activities. With the completion of the four assignments, NVEX concluded the program while gaining experience in project-based global collaboration, working alongside young people from overseas to explore challenges in education.
